Top 10 Popular Cat Breeds in Denver: Celebrating Feline Diversity

Cats not only make affectionate companions but also bring a unique blend of grace and personality to our homes. From plush fur to mesmerizing eyes, each of these popular cat breeds has something special to offer. Throughout the years DelaFoto portraits had the honor to capture each and everyone of these breeds, so to say that we’re experienced is an understatement.

So let's dive in and see what makes each kitty stand out from the crowd.

1. Ragdoll

Ragdolls are often celebrated for their striking blue eyes and soft, semi-long fur. They are called "puppy cats" because of their tendency to follow their owners around and their ease at being physically handled. They're notably calm and have a floppy nature when picked up, hence the name 'Ragdoll’.

2. British Shorthair

This breed is robust and easygoing, known for its dense, plush coat and round eyes. The British Shorthair has a reserved but affectionate nature, often described as dignified but not overly demanding. They are particularly famous for their blue-gray coats (although they come in a big variety of colors!) and teddy bear-like appearance.

3. Persian

Persians are known for their beautiful long coats and distinct pushed-in faces. They are among the oldest and most ornate cat breeds, often portrayed in movies and media as the epitome of luxury and tranquility. They require regular grooming to maintain their coat’s health and are known for their quiet, melodious voices.

4. Exotic Shorthair

The Exotic Shorthair shares many of the Persian's traits but in a shorter, plush coat that is easier to care for. They have a gentle and calm personality but are more playful and lively than their long-haired cousins, making them affectionate lap cats who mesh well with family environments.
