Canine Colorado Returns: Our 7th Fundraiser Magazine Begins

Each year, Canine Colorado begins the same way — quietly, intentionally, and with deep respect for the dogs and organizations we serve.

This season marks the 7th edition of Canine Colorado, DelaFoto’s ongoing fundraiser magazine dedicated to celebrating dogs, their people, and the Colorado nonprofits working tirelessly on their behalf.

For this edition, our focus is one of the most beloved breeds in the country — Labradors — and the nonprofit working every day to give them a second chance.

Canine Colorado: Labradors

Canine Colorado: Labradors is created in partnership with Safe Harbor Lab Rescue, an all-volunteer Colorado nonprofit rescuing and rehoming Labrador Retrievers across the state.

Every portrait session in this edition directly supports Safe Harbor’s mission, helping fund:

  • Medical care for Labs entering rescue

  • Foster support and essential supplies

  • Transportation and safe placement

  • Compassionate, responsible rehoming

This project exists to celebrate the dogs we love — and to support the dogs still waiting.

Why Labradors

Labradors are woven into everyday Colorado life.

They hike our trails, grow up with our children, and settle easily into the rhythm of family homes. Their loyalty and adaptability make them extraordinary companions — and also one of the most common breeds to enter rescue.

This edition honors both sides of that truth: the love Labs bring into our lives, and the responsibility we share to protect their futures.

What This Edition Will Become

At this early stage, the magazine is just beginning to take shape — but its intention is already set.

Over the coming months, Canine Colorado: Labradors will unfold through:

  • Thoughtfully guided portrait sessions for participating families

  • Personal stories celebrating the bond between Labs and their people

  • A carefully designed, printed magazine created as a lasting keepsake

  • Meaningful financial support for Safe Harbor Lab Rescue

This work is never rushed. It’s built with care, one story at a time.

Why We’re Sharing This at the Beginning

Most Canine Colorado stories are shared once the magazine is complete.

This time, we wanted to mark the beginning.

Because the beginning matters — it’s where intention is set, trust is established, and families choose to participate with purpose.

We’re honored to begin this newest edition alongside the Labrador community and Safe Harbor Lab Rescue, and grateful to every family who helps bring this project to life.
